Resolved Question: Lone parent on income support going back to college...help needed?

O.k please before anyone judges me read. I am a single parent of one School ages child. I am currently on a lone parent new deal course where i am given help with cvs, job applications, interview techniques etc, so i am actively job seeking. My problem is, i have dreamt of being a photographer since i left college (i completed and got my qualification in graphic design) 5 years ago, but i took time out to bring my son up, i am now pretty much not qualified in the graphic design field as ive been out of it for so long and have no studio experience. Someone mentioned going back to college, and whilst the thought of another 2 years not working does fill me with read at the same time it fills me with excitement as to what it would mean when i completed. The thing is i live alone with my child and have to claim income support, if i went to college it would cost, not in fees, but for the things i'd need ie: film, photographic paper etc ...stuff that on the budget im on, i dont think i could afford. Im weary of asking the job centre for fear of getting the typical 'you're just to lazy to work' look, so im seeking help elsewhere first IWhat does anyone think/ could get help? will i regret not following my dream if i just go for the first half suitable job available? im in limbo !! I just want to thank everyone for such a positive response, i feel so much better :0) more

Resolved Question: Do you want to read this story and name these children? (pretty long)?

1. So, you've been happily married to Joel Zachary Pearson for almost three years now. You two knew that you wanted a family someday, but you were still in your early twenties and figured you'd wait a while--there was no need to rush. Well, when Joel takes you out to a fancy dinner for your three year anniversary, you've got some big news. You tell him that that "someday" came a little quicker than expected, and you're pregnant! Joel is so happily surprised that he almost knocks over his wine glass. You both are thrilled, and the rest of the night, all you talk about is the new baby. A few months later, when you found out it's a boy, all you talk about is names. To play it safe, you choose a nice traditional name (first and middle) that has a youthful nickname that he can go by. +Here he is --> http://www.bozemandeaconess.org/pub/babies/BabyBoy2.JPG 2. Two years later, life is great with a romping, stomping toddler around. He's precious and everything you could've wanted in your first baby. You're so happy with him that you decide to want more. You and Joel start trying, and the doctor says you're having twin girls. So, you get the names picked out, and then nine months later, you give birth to twins...but they're both boys! So, you take the names you would've given the twin girls and chose a masculine version of the names. (Be sure to list the names you originally had and then the names that the boys get.) +Here they are --> http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3174/2561433444_d498a167df.jpg +And here's your 2 year old son --> http://sweetwhispersphotography.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/boston_toddler_photographer_200.jpg 3. Wow! Life with three boys--pretty crazy, but you and Joel couldn't be happier. It's be three years since the twins were born, making them right at three years old and making your oldest boy five. One night when the boys are asleep, you're in the laundry room trying to scrub out a grass stain from your oldest's baseball uniform when Joel comes to you with something he's been wanting to say for a while. "I love my boys," he tells you. "I really do. But, I've just been longing for a girl lately. I'm ready for barbie dolls and butterfly kisses." You have to admit, in the midst of all the football and video games, you've secretly been wanting a sweet, giggly girl. After staying up all night talking about, you decide that you'll adopt three girls to even it out with boys. You go to the adoption agency and you're lucky enough to come upon a set of beautiful, newborn triplet girls. You take them home to the boys, who are a bit unsure of what to think at first, but they soon shower the babies with kisses and cuddles. The babies are unnamed, so you chose names with all starting with the same letter, and the middle names are themed (ex. flowers, jewels, first ladies, etc.) +Here they are --> http://images.veer.com/IMG/PIMG/IPP/IPP0018813_P.JPG +And here's your 5 year old son --> http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2273/2249074094_86d3196fb1.jpg?v=0 +And here's your 3 year old twin boys --> http://www.twinguys.com/image/view/30 4. Six kids! Ten years ago, you never would've guessed you'd have this many kids. But, what can you say?--you truly love it. Now that the kids are really getting big, you decided that the boys in one room and the girls in another was just too small. So, you up and move into a big, beautiful house. Everyone gets there own room, except for the twins, who are inseperable and want to continue sharing. So, that leaves one empty bedroom, which you can't help but thinking about filling it with another child. Joel thinks you're crazy, but you just can't help but long for that feeling a little baby in your arms. After all, you're still pretty young, you've now got the room for another and you can afford it, too. So, after lots of convincing and persuading, Joel finally agrees that you'll have one last child. You get pregnant pretty easily, and nine months later, you go through your final labor and have a beautiful baby boy. Since he's your last, you decide to incorporate some family ancestry in his name. Joel is half Italian and your half Irish, so give this baby an Italian first name and Irish middle! +Here he is --> http://annakarinsphotography.com/annakarinsblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/baton-rouge-newborn-photographer-smile-baby2.jpg +And here's your 10 year old son --> http://wwwdelivery.superstock.com/WI/223/1799/PreviewComp/SuperStock_1799R-16532.jpg +And here's your 8 year old twins boys --> http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5392445/2/istockphoto_5392445-twin-boys.jpg +And here's your 5 year old triplet girls --> http://www.extrasformovies.com/images/pensive_girls%5B1%5D.jpg Hope you had fun! :D My Answers: 1. Benjamin Zachary. "Ben" 2. Leah Noelle and Evelyn Joy --> Levi Nolan and Everett Joseph. 3. Amelia Taylor, Alexa Morgan and Aurora Brook (middle names are all unisex.) "Mia, Lexi and Rory". 4. Marco Connor. "Marc" Ben, Levi, Everett, Mia, Lexi, Rory and Marc. more

She wants a "pin up" for her modeling which means we do certain stuff with clothing but its way to sexual. Voting Question: What is involved in Child Modelling?

My son is nearly 2 & many photographers have asked if I'd be interested in getting him started in child modelling. As he is now old enough and enjoys being in front of the camera I am seriously considering it. I would like to know what is involved, ie cost, time & pressure wise, as well as what to expect from such a fickle industry. I am NOT an over zealous stage parent nor am I interested in living vicariously through him. I would just honestly like to know what I should take into consideration, expect and the pros and cons etc before I actually committ to anything. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: If you could do it all over again, would you wait to save more money?

As a wedding photographer I hear about so many brides regretting they didn't wait another year to save up to have the wedding they wanted. We all know that some thing the day is not important and it's just one day yadda yadda yadda, but if you could go back and say if we could save up for one more year we would be able to afford....... Would you? Personal story. My fiance and his best friend have been friends since pre school. My fiance became a sugeon and his friend became a CNA with no intention on continuing. Well he met his now wife and he wanted to better himself. So he started nursing school. IN the third year he proposed and they got pregnant sometime after. He was in his last semester of nursing school, but his fiance was pregnant and she didn't want her family looking down on her for having a child out of wedlock. He kept telling her that in a year or so he would be able to give her a nice wedding with everything she wanted. She was so scared (23 years old) her family would disown her and we all kept telling her it was okay. Well she finally got what she wanted and they got married in her church and had their reception in a firehall. All in all it cost $1000. He's always regretted it but now she wants to have a big wedding since he is a nurse making $35/hr and they can afford it. He says no because they are already married and he doesn't want to do it so now she is crying that she wishes she would have just waited a year to have the wedding she wanted. Sorry so long!!! Just wanted to know if anyone wishes they would have waited to save!! more

Resolved Question: Was Dalal Mughrabi a martyr?

Dalal Mughrabi was a female Palestinian militant leader who directed the Coastal Road massacre, a 1978 terrorist attack in which 37 Israelis were killed. On the morning of March 11, 1978, Mughrabi and her Palestinian Fedayeen unit of eleven members, including one other woman, landed on an Israeli beach, killed an American photographer named Gail Rubin and hijacked a taxi, killing its occupants. They proceeded along the coastal highway shooting at traffic along the way. They next hijacked a bus and later a second bus, from which the passengers were transferred to the first one. The bus was finally stopped at a police roadblock. A shooting battle ensued. Eventually, Mughrabi blew up the bus which became a large deathtrap of fire. Many of the passengers were killed. In total, Mughrabi and her team killed 37 people, including at least 10 children. Some 71 people were wounded. Mughrabi and several other attackers died. The attack became known as the Coastal Road Massacre. Israeli military forces launched Operation Litani against PLO bases in Lebanon three days later. more

Resolved Question: anyone please help with language analysis english homework please?

Below is an article i need to Analyse.i need to mention what persuasive techniques are used and examples of these techniques. Andrew Bolt June 10, 2009 12:00am GORDON Ramsay didn't realise Australians had suddenly developed a few manners. Well, some of us. Not that I blame him. It's taken even The Chaser by surprise, which is why the boys found themselves yanked off air by the ABC last week for mocking dying children. * Blog: Chat with Andrew Nor did Channel 9's Sydney version of The Footy Show twig, thinking a mere apology from host Matthew Johns for having group sex with a now devastated teenage fan was all that was required to keep him on air. Sam Newman didn't get it, either, and was startled to find himself sin-binned by Channel 9 for fondling a cut-out likeness of a female sports writer. Even our artists - or should I say especially our artists - have been caught short, defending with their baas photographer Bill Henson for stripping and snapping a 13-year-old model for a perv's-delight portrait, only to find the police busting in, the Prime Minister roaring of his disgust, and the Australia Council waving a censor's scissor. So if locals didn't see our new prudery coming, who can blame a mere British blow-in like Ramsay for giving his audience at the Melbourne Good Food and Wine Show more of the gobful he assumed they'd seen before and had paid good money to see again? He'd drawn them through the turnstiles by abusing people, hadn't he? And the fouler the better, he'd learned to his profit. Oh, yes. How we've coaxed Ramsay into this charmless caricature of his better self. Talk about Dorian Gray. Ramsay in his earlier and terrific Kitchen Nightmares series had been passionate, direct and honest, and his bad language seemed just the natural, if unfortunate, byproduct. But it quickly became clear that his abuse, not his cookery or his passion, was tastiest to the mob, so Ramsay made it the signature dish of Hell's Kitchen - a series I found too thuggish to watch, but which made him a star in the US. And Channel 9 lasciviously screened it all - every screaming Ramsay tirade against some fumbling kid, diner, cook or housewife who'd dare to take their dreams of chefdom on to his set. Not once did Nine complain. Abuse meant ratings, after all. But now Ramsay has abused not some kitchen nuff-nuff, but Nine's own Tracy Grimshaw - and done so just weeks after she won praise and viewers for so comprehensively damning Johns. Once again, Ramsay could hardly be blamed for not seeing the line he'd crossed. Was there even one? After all, Grimshaw had just had him on her show, hoping to profit yet again from his viewer-drawing foul mouth. So delighted was she with his efforts after their flirtatious banter that she even included - for ratings points - Ramsay's jeering at a mole on her face: "Is that a wart? It looks like your little sister's on your lip." Ramsay actually said that after their recorded interview was over, but before the cameras were turned off. Yet Channel 9 wanted so badly to use it that it put to air what it now condemns. How often the media feeds on what it then claims in mock-horror is foul. Little wonder that Ramsay the next day gave his food show audience more of the very same, with extra sauce. Grimshaw, he haw-hawed, was ugly, wide and cold inside. Joking about swine flu, he flashed up pictures of Miss Piggy and a woman on all fours with the teats of a sow, and snickered that they were of the Current Affair host. It was boorish, brainless and without even the slightest excuse of "context". Yet on the video I've seen of Ramsay's presentation I could hear the audience laugh and laugh again. They were getting exactly the shock show they'd paid for. Ooh, that wicked Gordon. But there were also gasps and groans from a few - although mostly at Ramsay's even fouler mockery of Susan Boyle, the Britain's Got Talent singer and a much weaker target for a bully. Even then, however, Ramsay might have felt he'd get away with it. AFTER all, his tirade was all over almost every newspaper and TV news bulletin, guaranteeing him yet more eyeballs for his next show. Even Nine responded by offering him yet more of what keeps his show on the road, reportedly asking him back on A Current Affair to confront the hurt Grimshaw. For Ramsay, it seemed so much like just another day in the kitchen that he couldn't believe this time he'd gone too far: "I find it hard to believe that anyone was offended . . . I never thought of anyone in Australia having to be wrapped up in cotton wool." Indeed, rather than apologise, he gave the same dose to Rove McManus on Channel 10, calling him a "dwarf" and sneering at the alleged size of his penis. Ramsay may still have judged his audience correctly, of course, if ratings is all he's after. We'll see when - and if - his next series screens here. Yet, I suspect he's actually reached o more

Voting Question: My stepmom wants to cut me and my brother out of the "new family". What should I do?

It makes me so angry. She acts so nice to me and my brother (usually) but now I can tell she actually doesn't like us, and it's all fake. I live with my mom for half of the week and my dad for the other half. At my mom's, I'm extremely happy. My stepdad is like a second father to me, and my mom is my best friend. Plus, I love having just the four of us as a family. But then at my dad's, it's different. My dad has some anger issues, and he and I have never had the best relationship. My stepmom (who has been married to him for like 8 years now) is nice and fun, but I think it's all fake so she can make us like her, but she actually talks badly of us when we aren't around. She and my dad had 3 girls together (ages 7, 5, and 2) and I love them to death. For Father's day this year, she stayed at her sisters house with the little girls. When I woke up, I saw that my dad had already opened his Father's Day gift from her. It was a framed picture of her and my 3 little sisters that she had taken by a photographer. I was so angry when I saw that, because that's just one example of her "cutting me and my brother out of their new life". There are maybe 5 pictures of me and my brother around the house, and hundreds of her and my sisters. Even during the holidays, when family comes over, I can hear them talking about how me and my brother don't have many pictures. These are just a few examples of what she does. It just makes me angry, because I want to slap her and tell her that me and my brother are my father's first children, and we have known him longer, and just because we only live with them 4 days out of the week, doesn't mean that she can cut us out of the family. I know this is long, and thank you for reading it. But what should I do to help relieve my frustration and take care of this? My friends have told me just to stop going to my father's house all together, but I couldn't do that to my little sisters, because I do love them more than almost anything, and I know that it would hurt my dad too much. I just don't feel like a part of this family anymore. more

The apparitions were broadcast by Egyptian TV, photographed by hundreds of professional photographers and personally witnessed by Egyptian President Abdul Nasser, an avowed Marxist. The apparitions lasted for three years with numerous unaccountable healings recorded by various medical professionals. The local police, who initially thought the apparitions were an elaborate hoax, searched a 15-mile radius surrounding the site to uncover any type of device that could be used to project such images. They were completely unsuccessful. Silhouette of Virgin Mary on the building During three weeks over Christmas 1996, 450,000 people went to view the wall of a black glass building in south Florida where an image of the Virgin Mary had appeared. The rainbow-coloured image on the outside of the building in Clearwater, Florida, is about 50 feet wide and 35 feet tall, and stretches across nine panes of glass. (Sources: Associated Press; Clearwater Times; St Petersburg Times, USA) "We're not able to explain how the shape appeared or why it appeared," said George Pecoraro, a scientist with a glass manufacturing company. "It could be an accident or maybe it's divine intervention." Carlo Pantano, a professor of materials science and engineering at Pennsylvania State University, said: "We can try to explain it, but not who controlled it or why it happened here at this time." There is also no explanation to the fact that parts of image on nine panes of glass come together so perfectly. In the spring of 1997, someone threw an acidic substance on part of the image. For a few days, the image lost its artistic precision, but then, overnight, it recovered to the original state see, your not answering my question, you are just denying them and saying they aren't real miracles? how ignorant and blind can you get?! Resolved Question: commercial photography question?

I decided to take my hobby to more of a job. This summer I will be surrounded by my family , who have little children! So I was wondering for someone who doesn't have that much knowledge on being a pro/ freelance photographer. How can I find a client list. I have a Portfolio made up and all, but all i'm really looking for is like small children's boutiques that need a children's fashion photographer. I have my own models and such, but I just need to find the client! I have blogs and such set up for my photography, and I do some work with friends and family. I live in a small town in MI so I feel like i'm kind of limited! Thanks everyone The smallest town in Saginaw county =p more

Resolved Question: Fashion photography vs Commercial Photography?

I'm going to school to practically be a photographer, I plan on doing both commercial and children's fashion. So does that mean I would have to be a freelance photographer since I plan on doing my own thing? If so anyone here who is a freelance photographer do you have like an agent or something that books you assignments and such or do you go out there and do everything on your own? I'm just curious. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Can you help me with a story about the Northern Lights?

Ever since I was little I have always been interested in the northen lights. When I become a landscape and wildlife photographer the first thing I want to do is travel to Alaska and take a picture of them. I've also been interested in stories and theories about the northern lights but there's a theory that I want to turn into a fictional short story. The theory is that some people believe the northen lights are the spirits of children who have died dancing and playing and if you whistle at it the lights will come near you. Somehow I want to turn that into a fictinal short story but I need help. The setting is in Alaska of course. If you need a better mental image just think of Brother Bear...I guess. more

Voting Question: Are you self employed and having a baby?

If so, how are you dealing with not having maternity benefits when you are not working? That is the position I am in. I am getting married in September and turning 34 on my honeymoon. I am sure that I want to have a child (or two) but I'm not sure how to get by financially. My hubby to be and I are both self-employed (he as a musician/music teacher and I as a musician/music teacher/photographer). I am still building up enough work to be financially secure. He is more secure than I but still doesn't make enough to support us completely. Our parents can help, but they don't want to be full time babysitters either. My fiancee's schedule is all over the map and so is mine, although I know that I would have to be more regimented with a baby. Anyway, I was just wondering if you are in a similar situation and how you handle it or are planning on handling it. more

Resolved Question: Y & R.... REMEMBER BACK THERE?

The Fosters were a struggling family but honest (even Jill, in the beginning) There was Snapper, the doctor, Greg the lawyer and Jill. the assistant to Mrs. Chancellor. The Brooks family, they were like the Abbotts. They had money. The 4 girls were Leslie, Laurie, Chris and Peggy. Leslie was a pianist married to Lance and Brad (different Brad), she ended up going blind. Her sister Laurie slept with them both. She was a nasty sister. Chris was happily married to Snapper Foster, (funny can't remember what his given name was - only remember Snapper). Peggy was the youngest (a red-head) and finally got some show focus years later when she became a flower child with the introduction of new characters Nikki and then of course Paul. Greg Foster, the lawyer became involved with Nikki first before Victor stole her from him. Of course that was after Victor was threw with his wife Julia. She had an affair with Michael the photographer and Victor locked him up in the basement and Paul's new job was to feed him. The original families is still hanging in with Jill and the occasional appearance of her mom, but ahhh, that isn't her mom anymore, is it. more

Resolved Question: Photographers who know their rights, is this legal?

My brother goes to a private school so I'm allowed on the property. I took pictures of the children who go to the school playing on the playground after school while they were in informal day care. The day care people didn't stop me. I posted the pictures on facebook, and my mom freaked out and told me to take them down. I don't think I should have to take them down, they are my photograhy, my pieces of art, don't I own the copyright? I think the school was acting as a parent and they didn't stop me, is that consent? It was noncommercial, for my own personal portfolio, and the kids were not named. Am I in the legal right to keep them up? more

Resolved Question: Private vs Public Hospital for giving birth.....experiences please!?

Hello there all! I have private insurance and for that reason I have an Obstetrician to look after my care and will also be going into private hospital to deliver my baby! I am excited as I'll have my own room, hubby can stay with me as they give you a queen bed and they have a photographer come and take your photos after the birth and also you get to organise an eating plan and everything. It is for a 3-4 day stay. I am curious what other Mums-to-be will be doing - public or private hospital and if you have already had children in either how was your experience? Thank you so much for replying...I am just really curious! X No, you still have shared rooms in some hospitals here - with at least another mother! I'm glad I won't have to go through with that. Thanks for the answers - just goes to show that different hospitals have different set ups and that some of you ladies in public hospitals experienced separate rooms with the works like a private hosiptal, and others shared accommodation. If I went to the public hospital here where I live I would be in a shared room so that is why I am so glad hubby and I have private cover to have the separate room. more

Resolved Question: How was your experience at Sears Portrait Studio?

If you had/have your baby/children's pictures taken at Sears, I would like to know what you like and what you don't about the sessions and photographers. If you don't mind sharing the information, about how much money did/do you spend and how often? Instead of feeling excited and satisfied about the session (my daughter did a wonderful job), I left feeling stessed and ready to cry about the amount of money I'd spent. The first time I went to Sears, my daughter was 3 months old. Our photographer was also young, and late. She seemed very much like she didn't know what she was doing and I felt that she didn't put any effort into our session. I don't think she even wanted to do an outfit change. Also, she wore a lowcut shirt, which made me feel very, very uncomfortable as she was crawling around trying to get pictures of my daughter while my fiance was right there. When my daughter was 6 months old, the pictures were wonderful, and although we did really love them, we did not want to spend as much as we did. The photographer (who must have been there awhile) worked hard to get us all eligible discounts, however. Yesterday I had my daughter's 9 month pictures taken, and while the photographer did a pretty good job taking pictures, I was not satisfied with the way she sold them to us. I did have coupons, and I did explain to her right away that, although we would love to be able to buy all of the pictures, we simply could not. I told her that I didn't have a lot of extra money, but my daughter is never going to be 9 months old again (I did intend to buy though, so it's not like we were wasting her time). I felt as if she just kept trying to sell beyond my budget and she didn't point out the fine print. (Sheets are 20 dollars after package) She didn't tell me what the total price would be until after she had placed the order. more

Resolved Question: Y&R..Who Is Mary Jo Benson.,?

Character History Mari Jo, an old lover from photographer Blade Bladeson's (Michael Tylo) mysterious past, came to Genoa City. As head of the Jabot Cosmetics art department, she was working with Blade's new wife Ashley Abbott (Brenda Epperson). Mari Jo was still in love with Blade, but Blade would never forgive her for sleeping with his evil twin brother, Rick (also played by Tylo). She assured him that their past would remain a secret, but began blackmailing him as she was the only witness to Rick's drowning as Blade ignored his cries for help. Rick shocked everyone when he showed up alive in Genoa City, bent on revenge for leaving him to die. Rick had fallen off a pier but did not drown as everyone had thought. Mari Jo again became involved with Rick, but Ashley, seeing them together and knowing nothing of a twin, assumed she and Blade were having an affair. Ashley confronted Blade with the facts, which he could not dispute without uncovering his evil twin. Mari Jo soon fell in love with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), asked him to marry her, and they became engaged. But Jack broke it off after he found out about her involvement with his sister's husband Blade, and Jack was reunited with his Vietnamese ex, Luan Volien (Elizabeth Sung). Mari Jo did her best to break them up, following them on their trip to St. Thomas. Coincidentally, Blade and Ashley were also there in an attempt to rekindle their marriage. Rick captured Blade and imprisoned him, while Rick took Blade's life as Ashley's husband. Ashley was thoroughly impressed with the change in Blade, both as a husband who now wanted children and as a lover. Mari Jo realized that Blade was really Rick. Not long afterward Blade escaped, confronted Rick, forced him to leave town, and resumed his marriage to Ashley who was very disappointed that he had reverted to his old self. Several more role reversals occurred, ending up with the real Blade being killed when his car was hit by a train. Rick revealed himself to Ashley, but Ashley threw him out, and went to Paris to escape the grief and deception. Mari Jo, with the help of Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton), drove Rick out of town. Mari Jo turned her affections to Jack's son, Keemo (Philip Moon), but he dumped her after she hired a prostitute to impersonate her in bed with him. Later Mari Jo helped Jack get over the tragic death of his wife Luan, but became obsessed with him. Then Victor Newman (Victor Newman) was shot. Mari Jo turned out to be the culprit after first framing Jill for it. Mari Jo had felt the only way to keep a fax from Keemo detailing all her misdeeds from falling into Victor's hands was to shoot him. The recovering Victor suspected Mari Jo, which led her to assume his attorney Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) had a copy of the fax. So Mari Jo drugged Chris and held her prisoner in the Jabot prop storage room. Victor and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) tracked Mari Jo to Chris thanks to a tracking device they planted on Mari Jo. They arrived just as Mari Jo shot Chris with blanks from a planted gun. Mari Jo was institutionalized for attempted murder of Victor and the kidnapping of Christine. Pole Y&R or B&B? more

Resolved Question: Can I take a picture of someone in public and post it on the internet without their consent?

I took a picture at my local carnival yesterday (here it is: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j161/futuramaniac/child.jpg ) it had a kid in it and I thought it looked like a pretty good picture. Anyways, someone said that I can not post a picture of someone online without their consent. I don't exactly believe that because this was in a public space. I also live in the Netherlands, so the laws might be different. I don't make any money off of this picture, it's just a picture to post on the internet. It's also not a nude picture (now THAT I can understand being illegal, but this is just a kid in public looking at some duckies). So is it true or not? Do I need consent to post someone's picture online when they're in a public space? (I bet a lot of photographers in the Obama crowd would need A LOT of consent forms then /sarcasm). more

Resolved Question: How much to charge for modelling fees?

Hi there :) A photographer has requested to use me as part of his photography project, to take photos of me at various outdoor locations. It's not glamour modelling and I have met the person already, before you ask. He's asked me how much I'd like to be paid, and I was wondering what the average is for this sort of work? I'm quite experienced, but my other shoots have been more professional (ads etc) and I was rather a small child then, so obviously it would be completely different. more

Resolved Question: Making A Baby (sorry it's a bit long though)...?

The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife goodbye and said, 'Well, I'm off now. The man should be here soon.' Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale. 'Good morning, Ma'am', he said, 'I've come to...' 'Oh, no need to explain,' Mrs. Smith cut in, embarrassed, 'I've been expecting you.' 'Have you really?' said the photographer. 'Well, that's good. Did you know babies are my specialty?' 'Well that's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat !. After a moment she asked, blushing, 'Well, where do we start?' 'Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch, and perhaps a couple on the bed. And sometimes the living room floor is fun. You can really spread out there.' 'Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work out for Harry and me!' 'Well, Ma'am, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.' 'My, that's a lot!', gasped Mrs. Smith. 'Ma'am, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I'd love to be In and out in five minutes, but I'm sure you'd be disappointed with that.' 'Don't I know it,' said Mrs. Smith quietly. The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. 'This was done on the top of a bus,' he said. 'Oh, my God!' Mrs. Smith exclaimed, grasping at her throat. 'And these twins turned out exceptionally well - when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with.' 'She was difficult?' asked Mrs. Smith. 'Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to the park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep to get a good look' 'Four and five deep?' said Mrs. Smith, her eyes wide with amazement. 'Yes', the photographer replied. 'And for more than three hours, too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate, and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just had to pack it all in.' Mrs. Smith leaned forward. 'Do you mean they actually chewed on your, uh...equipment?' 'It's true, Ma'am, yes.. Well, if you're ready, I'll set-up my tripod and we can get to work right away.' 'Tripod?' 'Oh yes, Ma'am. I need to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big to be held in the hand very long.' Mrs. Smith fainted more

Resolved Question: Does this woman sound like an unfit mother or am i just crazy! and why doesn't anyone else see it!?

ok here goes... This lady is F***ING crazy! I think so anyways. She has 10 children. She doesnt take care of any of them, she pawns them off on her husband. She doesnt attend any of their school events. She has 10 kids by 6 dads(maybe). She has lied to each one of them and said their dad is someone else, and when its covienent for her she will tell them the truth. I am very close to all her kids and they have all expressed a hatred for their mom. I think they have lots of mental issues and have had a pretty dang sad life. She tells her daughters they are chunky or picks on them about their developing bodies. Except for her youngest daughter who she will allow to make rude comments and behave out of control. And the boys can do no wrong. They are totally out of control. She is a horrible excuse for a parent. Not only that shes done alot of other shady thing, like she lied to the college shes attending and said she compleeted high school, and has been taking classes online in order to avoid direct contact with people at the school. shes been doing it for almost 2 years and they just now caught her. A few years ago she made up a FAKE baby, to try and get back with one of her ex's. She was a photographer at a local walmart, and she would steal pics of newborn babies, and send them to her ex(he lived in another state). And then when her ex was starting to suspect that she was lying, she said that the baby died in a car wreck with her husband, and even went as far as to clip out a news paper article about a infant who died in a car accident to her EX. Thats not the end of it shes done soo many F***ed up things to mention. But you get the idea shes fucked in her head. Yet she has managed to get a foster care liscence, She doesnt even take care of the ones she has. Her husband is a sheriff in town and no one here likes her. and they can tell something is "off" about her. I just dont understand how shes getting away with this, shes never been in trouble with the law, no one ever confronts her. Just recently shes been approved to have IVF. to have another baby. But shes already had her tubes tie, and the insureance wasnt supposed to pay for it but of course she lied and said she didnt have a tubal ligation or whatever. Its not jsut that she already has alot of children that she doenst take care of, I just cant stomach seeing her bring another child in this world. Is there anyway to get some one to believe me about her! how can i stop her! shes using all my money to pay the out of pocket cost for this proceidure. I think shes obsessed with having babies. I really think its some kind of mental illness. Is it? Im sorry this is so long, here are my questions now that u know a little history.. Can I contact her health care provider and let them know whats goin on? and do u think they will even listen? How or who can I talk to about her, Karma has to catch up to her? and Any advice on how to deal im about to go crazy!!!!!!! thanks in advance more

Resolved Question: Would you hire a female photographer if the studio name was Girlie Photography?

Pretend one day you were driving home from work and you saw a photography studio named "Girlie Photography, or Girlie Studio, Girly Photos etc, you get what I mean... Would you be curious and call? Interestested? If no, why? If yes, why? what kind of photography would you assume I do? Do you think it's a catchy name (for the good or bad)? Does the name scare you? The reason I am posting this in the weddings category is because I'd like to get honest answers from adults, men & women because I used to take strictly erotic/glamour (non-nude) photos for wives taking spicy but tasteful pictures for their hubby's, gf taking pics for their b/f and modeling portfolios. I am now branching off into weddings, newborns, children and family portraits and I'm getting ready to open my awesome studio in the heart of the historical part of my small town city. I'm concerned that the Biz name will either scare them off or attract attention because A LOT of people will be driving by it daily and traffic will be my main advertisement as the building sits in a perfect site for traffic. Honest opinions please :) Thank you! Thank you. I'm getting a lot of mixed answers so I think I will stick with it :) BUT do away with the erotic shoots :) I am in Columbus, Ohio more

Resolved Question: I am considering joining the marines...?

I am in the midst of researching all I can find out about joining, and the opportunities available to me. Especially as a woman. I need to decide what option would be best for me. I want to be prepared and knowledgeable about my position wants and needs so I do not allow the recruiter to bully me into signing up to a sudden death occupation. I need to decipher between joining the reserves, enlist as active duty, or look into becoming an officer. I am a college student, I will be graduating in November with an associates in business. My main focus at this point is more education: with that being said, I want to be able to stay in school. (I have about 5-8 years of different types of schooling lined up that I want to accomplish). So I also would like to know my funding education options. My dream career goals are in the field of photography/ culinary arts. (hence: combat photographer... or what ever). Though I will not object to what ever jobs may be available to me. Another question being what would the best option military career wise be for me when I enlist. I hear that alot of combat jobs are not available to women, is this true? If so that is fine I really dont want to be deployed anyway. what are my chances of being deployed depending on how I enlist? I am not saying I want to take the easy route out, but I eventually when I get out of the military I plan to pursue and entrapanuer career in my dream field as well be an almost "stay at home mom", but want a since of knowing what benefit I have acheived for myself and my children. I want a sense of accomplishmnet and strength. I need further dicipline, to stand up to my full potential (which I know the marines will surely provide). I have dreams of my own, but also have a longing to become a US Marine. I dont want to jump into something so serious, stupidly. I just need some information on opportunitues, options, and experiences as well as more resources to find more information. And information provided will be taken in greatfully. P.S. I don't want anyone refering me to the navy or air force. I am focused on being a marine. I have had enough people tell me what I should do. "take the easy way out" ...blah blah blah, my dad didn't raise to take the easy route. I love a challenge and I have my mind set percisely on the marines. I know they say marines are the the ones who join with the mind frame ready to go to war and kill, but I know theres more, and I am focusing on those other ooptions within the marine core! Let me make this alittle clearer... I never said I am against deploying, (obviously y would I even look at the military?).. I work for the army I know alittle more about the military than you think. Also I know what they say about the marines. I know that COMBAT Photography would be a deployment. I know u don't get to necesarily pick what you want to do. obviously the lady marine that answered my question is active duty, and probably didn't know jack about the marines when she joined. obviously if I am asking the question I do not know too much about the marines... THATS WHY I AM ASKING WHAT OPPORTUNITUES ARE OUT THERE! I never planned to take pictures with butterflies jack ass. I have plenty of marine friends, I just am trying to get perspective of which program would be most profitable for me! because I know that there are different routes you can take in, and I know that recruiters will tell you anything to make you think that you dont have options, but I personally know that u do more

Resolved Question: A book called The Summer Of Death?

I'm looking for a book (once again). I read it in second grade and liked it enough to come back the next year to read it again. I thought the title was The Summer of Death, but all google searches have been fruitless. I remember it was about a girl (I think her name was Meg) who was an artist and a photographer living in a large city. She had an older sister who was a cheerleader and they were always at odds. One summer they move to a house in the middle of nowhere. She and her father build a dark room together and she begins to bud as a person while her older sister starts developing leukemia. The story is about Meg's coming of age and also about dealing with grief. I also remember there was an old man who I believe was named William, as well as a hippy couple who moved into a house near theirs. They had a child named Happy William or some variant on that. Sorry for any vagueness, but it's been a really long time since I read it. If you know the book I'd love to hear from you! Thanks, Rhi more

Resolved Question: Wanna play a babyname game?

You may want to look at all the pictures before naming the kids. Their appearances may help with names! Of course, this is just for fun. :) 1. After graduating from college and marrying the love of your life, Lucas "Luke" Daniel, you immediately want to start the family you've dreamed about since you were little. You and Luke start trying and you get pregnant right away. Nine months later, you have a beautiful baby boy. Since he's your first boy, you want to name him after his daddy. Make Lucas, Luke or Zachary a first/middle name (or he can just be a Junior, if you like.) +Here he is --> http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1365/542208757_3fe48a4031.jpg 2. You've fallen in love with your little boy. He's your buddy, and he goes everywhere you go. You just adore him. So, when he turns three, you and Luke decide you want another. You start trying and successful just as quickly as you were the first time around. But, about eight months into pregnancy, something goes wrong and you are forced to have the baby early, maker HER pre-mature. But, to the doctor's surprise, your baby girl is absoluelty fine and healthy -- just very small. Make her first name Biblical (since she truly is a blessing from God) and her middle name something that means "miracle", "gift" or something along those lines. +Here she is --> http://proudtointroduce.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/best_newborn_baby_photographer_milwaukee.jpg +And here's your 3 year old son --> http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3624/3314909294_885fbc64e3.jpg 3. Your family is just wonderful. He now five-year-old son is really maturing and is definitely a leader. He's very protective of his now 2-year-old sister, who is giggly and a total mommy's girl. Your pretty content with your family of four -- that is, until the doctor tells you you're about to be a family of seven! You have identical triplet boys. Make their first names all be the same syllables, and their middle names all the same letter. +Here they are --> http://4loves.com/mexitext/uploaded_images/triplets-in-bed-783623.jpg +And here's your 5-year-old son --> http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg40/hikimmo/Family/100_0886.jpg +And here's your 2-year-old daughter --> http://media.photobucket.com/image/2%20year-old%20girl/racheldurik/hannah/IMG_6944copy.jpg 4. Your kids are really growing up. Your oldest son is now eleven, and he's very athletic and outgoing, and is about to go into middle school--you're sure he'll make the baseball team and student council. Your daughter, now eight, is very talkative and theatrical--she loves an audience. Your triplet boys, now six, love animals, creativity and art--they're always coloring and coming up with new games to play. Just when you think you're ready to settle down, you sister and brother-in-law die in an awful car crash. They left behind their 3-year-old twin girls, and your sister had made you their god-mother when they were born. Without a hesitation, you take them into your home and raise them as their own. Your sister loved the outdoors and had named the twins something that had to do with nature. What're their names? +Here they are --> http://media.photobucket.com/image/toddler%20twin%20girls/shannon3113/IMG_5609c.jpg +And here's your 11 year-old son --> http://images.craveonline.com/article_imgs/Image/puberty_boy.jpg +And here's your 8 year-old daughter --> http://x4b.xanga.com/5bfc6b3111233199704601/z154667564.jpg +And here's your 6 year-old triplet boys --> http://daneel.traclabs.com/~korten/Family/mikel_boys.jpg 5. Whew! Life is pretty hectice with seven kids, but you're loving every minute of it. One day while you're flipping through the channels on TV, you come across a "Feed the Children" program. After seeing the poverty that the children in Africa are living in, instead of simply paying a few dollars each month -- you decide to adopt a child! That's right, you and Luke fly to Africa where you adopt a precious baby boy. He was found abandoned, so they don't know what his name is, so you get to name him. His name will be African, so he can hold onto some of his heritage. (I'll post pics in aditional details.) +Here he is --> http://images.inmagine.com/img/blendimages/bld098/bld098361.jpg +And here's your 16 year old son --> http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00428/nickskins_280_428890a.jpg +And here's your 13 year old daughter --> http://www.tip.duke.edu/loyo/Teen_Girl.jpg +And here's your 11 year old triplet boys --> http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3435/3225674912_79cdbdde76_o.jpg +And here's your 8 year old twin nieces --> http://comps.fotosearch.com/comp/BCP/BCP107/twin-girls-dressed_~BCP007-49.jpg I hope you had fun! Resolved Question: Is any of my photos/photo edits any good, child beginner on GIMP?

OK, so I'm 13 and have just starting taking pictures (using a webcam) and using GIMP to edit them. I've had very little use of Photoshop at school, we just used it to select certain parts of a picture. I was wondering if some photographers and/or Graphic designers or just general people could give me some tips on how to make them better. I only have a few ATM but I'm hoping they will be enough :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/38577227@N07/?saved=1 Thanks for all your help :) Geii xox PS: In *Shocked, Scared and Dying Inside" the mascara, mascara stains and all colouring is edited, the eyes are just a normal picture or eyes :P more

Resolved Question: How does this text in English could be rewritten to sound more EnglisH...I am French?

"Gradually, photography became more accessible, and between 1850 and 1870 the middle classes were able to practise photography and have their portraits made. Twenty years later, their children privilege the non-professional photography as a hobby. This democratization doesn't reach workers and still less the farming world which forms the essential of the French population. The arrival of Kodak apparatus made a true revolution. In 1888 George Eastman markets the first Kodak, which includes a roller of one hundred sights at the price of 25 dollars. This was in the United States but soon extended to the rest of the world. Success is immediate because the apparatus makes it possible to be delivered to the joys of the capture of the scene without having the constraint of laboratory work hitherto completed by the photographers themselves. It is enough to send the apparatus to Rochester where, for ten dollars, the photographs are developed and the apparatus reloaded with a new reel. The advertising slogan “Press on the button, we make the remainder” encompassed the new ambitions of the firm: to conquer a vast market beyond the enlightened amateurs. The development of the amateurs stimulates the industry of the cameras and significant surfaces and supports the innovations. The trade and the craft industry related to the portrait are not touched yet, quite to the contrary, the photographers of district taking care of work of laboratory of the amateurs. New businesses of amateurs are constituted." He is the text, thanks for helping more

Resolved Question: Atheists, how do you disprove the Fatima miracle of the sun?

1. was predicted by the children months in advance, skeptics say it was a meteorlogical event, how can you predict a meteorlogical event months in advance? 2. skeptics say it was crowd hysteria, how can it be crowd hysteria when it was seen many miles away 3. one of the secrets stated russia will spread her errors throughout the world, this did happen 4. how can you explain the non believers at the site of the miracle claiming something did in deed happen 5. the third secret, a vision of the death of the Pope and other religious figures, which did happen on may 13 the same day the children first saw the visions the odds of happening are one in 365 for those who dont know about the history of fatima: On October 13, 1917, the final in the series of the apparitions of 1917, a crowd believed to be approximately 70,000 in number,[3] including newspaper reporters and photographers, gathered at the Cova da Iria in response to reports of the children's prior claims that on that day a miracle would occur "so that all may believe".[1] It rained heavily that day, yet countless observers reported that the clouds broke, revealing the sun as an opaque disk spinning in the sky and radiating various colors of light upon the surroundings, then appearing to detach itself from the sky and plunge itself towards the earth in a zigzag pattern, finally returning to its normal place, and leaving the people's once wet clothing now completely dry. The event is known as the "Miracle of the Sun".[ Here are eyewitness accounts of the miralce of the sun: O Seculo (a pro-government, anti-clerical, Lisbon paper): From the road, where the vehicles were parked and where hundreds of people who had not dared to brave the mud were congregated, one could see the immense multitude turn toward the sun, which appeared free from clouds and in its zenith. It looked like a plaque of dull silver, and it was possible to look at it without the least discomfort. It might have been an eclipse which was taking place. But at that moment a great shout went up, and one could hear the spectators nearest at hand shouting: "A miracle! A miracle! Before the astonished eyes of the crowd, whose aspect was biblical as they stood bareheaded, eagerly searching the sky, the sun trembled, made sudden incredible movements outside all cosmic laws---the sun "danced" according to the typical expression of the people. Standing at the step of an omnibus was an old man. With his face turned to the sun, he recited the Credo in a loud voice. I asked who he was and was told Senhor Joao da Cunha Vasconcelos. I saw him afterwards going up to those around him who still had their hats on, and vehemently imploring them to uncover before such an extraordinary demonstration of the existence of God. Identical scenes were repeated elsewhere, and in one place a woman cried out: "How terrible! There are even men who do not uncover before such a stupendous miracle!" People then began to ask each other what they had seen. The great majority admitted to having seen the trembling and the dancing of the sun; others affirmed that they saw the face of the Blessed Virgin; others, again, swore that the sun whirled on itself like a giant Catherine wheel and that it lowered itself to the earth as if to burn it in its rays. Some said they saw it change colors successively.... --------------------------------------... O Dia (another Lisbon daily, edition of 17 October 1917): "At one o'clock in the afternoon, midday by the sun, the rain stopped. The sky, pearly grey in colour, illuminated the vast arid landscape with a strange light. The sun had a transparent gauzy veil so that the eyes could easily be fixed upon it. The grey mother-of-pearl tone turned into a sheet of silver which broke up as the clouds were torn apart and the silver sun, enveloped in the same gauzy grey light, was seen to whirl and turn in the circle of broken clouds. A cry went up from every mouth and people fell on their knees on the muddy ground.... The light turned a beautiful blue, as if it had come through the stained-glass windows of a cathedral, and spread itself over the people who knelt with outstretched hands. The blue faded slowly, and then the light seemed to pass through yellow glass. Yellow stains fell against white handkerchiefs, against the dark skirts of the women. They were repeated on the trees, on the stones and on the serra. People wept and prayed with uncovered heads, in the presence of a miracle they had awaited. The seconds seemed like hours, so vivid were they. --------------------------------------... Ti Marto (father of Jacinta and Francisco) We looked easily at the sun, which for some reason did not blind us. It seemed to flicker on and off, first one way, then another. It cast its rays in many directions and painted everything in different colors--- the trees, the people, the air and the ground. But what was most extraordinary, I thought, was th more

Resolved Question: Surrogate Farther!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joke Star IF you like?

The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife goodbye and said, 'Well, I'm off now. The man should be here soon.' Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale. 'Good morning, Ma'am', he said, 'I've come to...' 'Oh, no need to explain,' Mrs. Smith cut in, embarrassed, 'I've been expecting you.' 'Have you really?' said the photographer . 'Well, that's good. Did you know babies are my specialty?' 'Well that's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat'. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.' 'My , that's a lot!', gasped Mrs. Smith. 'Ma'am, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I'd love to be In and out in five minutes, but I'm sure you'd be disappointed with that' 'Don't I know it,' said Mrs. Smith quietly. The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. 'This was done on the top of a bus,' he said. 'Oh, my word!' Mrs. 'And for more than three hours, too. mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate, and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Smith fainted !!!. more
